I am one of those people who receives immense satisfaction from organization. Nothing better than a clean space with appropriate labeled boxes, cabinets, pens, dogs, husbands…
This year for my birthday my parents gave me a label maker! How I’ve lived without one for this many years is a mystery to me.
All of my Husband’s fears, in regards to label makers, are coming true in this sketch. You know sometimes you gotta label what is yours so everyone else knows. Hehee.
A friend from college was recently married in Orlando, FL. Lucky for me, one of my best friends lives there too. A wedding is always a great excuse to have a girl’s weekend!
My friend, Angie, was the perfect hostess for me on this weekend excursion. She greeted me with a bag of goodies to help me fight through jetlag, the intense Florida sun and the occasional chocolate craving.

My PNW white skin definitely wasn’t ready for the rays of the Florida sun. Here I am slathered in sunscreen while eating my chocolate poolside. Sounds pretty good to me!
When I first returned to the Seattle area, I was enrolled at Seattle Community College for an art minor. I studied under the talented Tatiana Garmendia along with many of my classmates.
One of my classmates, who is truly a natural with a great artistic eye, decided to use me as live model for his Drawing 111 Final. The directive was to draw inspiration from a piece at the Seattle Art Museum and make it your own. Without even knowing it, he drew exactly what I would want to wear dressed up!
About a year ago, I started thinking about this pastel drawing wishing I could acquire it. I wrote the artist to see if he would part with it. He told me I was the only person who could entice him to say goodbye to “her.” And there you have it!
Now she proudly sits in my living room/ bar area for all to see. I really enjoy catching glances of her while I walk through the house. I remember the moments creating where everything is peaceful.

My husband was long ago adopted into his friend’s family tradition of “Family Camp.” The decision of two people started a much anticipated yearly event for all. Lots of people, games of all kinds, food and of course sleeping under the stars make for the perfect combo of a summertime celebration.
My husband and I are so excited and appreciative to be considered a part of this family excursion every year.

Great friends of ours gave us tickets to a Seattle Sounders soccer game! My man really enjoys soccer but surprisingly this was only our second game since meeting one another almost 3 years ago. It was great to get out for a date night to cheer on Seattle!

I recently was a part of wedding where the two joining families were such a pleasure to celebrate the happy couple with. I just had to tell them my joy of being included in their new found sense of family.

Basically this is where I could be found at the party, near the DERU Market cakes. My favorites are: Chocolate with salted peanut butter frosting, vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting, vanilla with coconut frosting, poppyseed with vanilla frosting, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, and wait…that is all of them! Seriously, they are that good!
I had a little dental work recently that left me eating liquid or almost liquid foods for awhile. A dear friend saw my need and made me some wonderful soup!

My sister-in-law created glass jewelry boxes for the women in her family as beautiful thank you gifts for helping out with her wedding. Such a thoughtful and gorgeous reminder of her love and appreciation.

I really dislike when house, car or dog matters happen on my watch. For instance, when I lost Manny at the dog park for 35 minutes. Or, as in recent events, a tire goes flat. I suddenly feel immense guilt that I did something wrong. As if I would purposely drive over a nail so that it would puncture the tire twice!
Thankfully, The Man signed up for tire insurance with Discount Tire Store and the tire was replaced for free!!! When they said, “Oh yeah we’ll get that replaced for you in no time at no cost,” I was floored. They apologized for a 45 minute wait time while I jumped for joy! I was able to grab a cup of coffee (Starbucks red cups are here!) and read my book. Sounds like a good morning to me.

While Hawaii was great. I mean freaking amazing!!! I’m glad to be back to all things Seattle. Space Needle, Starbucks, Sleepless in Seattle (perfect movie to watch on a cold day) and crossed fingers…snow! The temperatures have dropped here in the PNW and it has me dreaming of a winter wonderland.
